Review

There has not been much change in the area of the Surfside Pier for many years, a lot of the bars have remained the same for the most part during the time that I have lived here. there has been one change though as the Surf Diner opened up at the beginning of the pier. With a name like Surf Diner I figured there would be no bar in it much less a Happy Hour. I was recently told though that I was wrong on both accounts so I had to make the ride to Surfside for a review. It is hard to argue with the location of the Surf Diner, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean with a decent sized patio for the warmer months which does get packed pretty quickly in the spring and summer. The bar area itself is only about 6 or 7 seats, so that can fill up quickly too. The Happy Hour is pretty good with some decent $5 food specials and some discounts on the drinks. Getting house liquor while being oceanfront is nothing to scoff at. The Happy Hour hours are only from 4 til 6pm on the weekdays, so it can be hard to get there in time if you work until 5. While the Surf Diner has an unsuspecting name, it is a very good oceanfront restaurant with some good food and a nice Happy Hour.
