The Grand Strand is certainly not lacking in places that specializes in BBQ. The competition is tough as a lot of people will swear by certain places. A new place in Pawleys Island might change a few minds though called Great PeeDee Q Smokehouse in the Mingo Plantation part of Litchfield. It sits in the same spot that used to be Sanfords for a few years and not a lot has changed with the design of the place. There is a very expansive menu that includes more than just bbq and you can get some great deals at Happy Hour with several items at half off and P&E Shrimp at only a quarter a piece. That is easily the lowest price along the Grand Strand for shrimp. There are 15 taps at the bar with about 10 or so being dedicated to a rotating craft beer selection. If you are not a fan of the fancy beers then PBR is just a buck at Happy Hour. With a really nice Happy Hour, good food, outdoor covered patio bar you cannot go wrong with the Great PeeDee Q Smokehouse.
