I can always tell if a bar is a favorite locals spot by how busy it is no matter what time of the day or night it is. I've been to Mick & Mike's numerous times throughout the past four years, but never got a review because it was always so busy that I never wanted to distract a bartender when they have a large crowd. A little while back I actually got a chance to get a review because it was finally slow for a little bit. The Happy Hour specials aren't much to write about as you only get 50 cents off on liquor and that's it. Throw in a few good weekly specials and Mick & Mike's is only ok in that regard, but they make up for it in their low overall prices. Locals do rave about the home cooked food and especially the lunch specials that only come at $4.95. That probably explains why it is always has a good amount of people in the parking lot. If you're in North Myrtle and looking for a good local place I'd give Mick & Mike's a try.
