If you had told me years ago that The Library would have had a Happy Hour I would have called you a liar since most upscale places didn't even bother having one. The Library is one of the top 3 upscale restaurants along the Grand Strand, so I figured they would be the last place to have a Happy Hour, but as time went on more fine dining establishments started up Happy Hours and a year ago The Library followed suit. I knew I had to check it out at some point, so I decided to get a review. Let me state this right up front that if you decide to try out The Library for HH, you most likely will want to make a reservation ahead of time just to be safe. There is no bar area inside, but just a lounge that has 3 tables. This is also a quant fine dining place, so if you're out to be loud and obnoxious, then this may not be the place for you. What The Library Happy Hour is ideal for would be for couples or small groups that want to start out an evening in a relaxed atmosphere while trying some good food and drinks. The half off on the apps is a great deal as is the deal on the martinis, mojitos and margaritas. The house liquor prices may seem high, but its not your typical house brands that you'd be getting, it is the good stuff. If you're tired of the typical Happy Hour experience and you want to class things up a bit then you may want to go downtown and give The Library a try.
