I had heard ads for La Playa about a thousand times, so I figured I would check it out. I ended up with mixed feelings about the place. The Happy Hour is 4 til 6 so it is not exactly convenient for people who have to work the 9 to 5 shift. There was not much going on when I got there, as La Playa really picks up during dinner times and late nights. The bar areas is a bit small and is more of a waiting area than anything else. There are plusses to La Playa, including their wide selection of food, beers, and wines from the Caribbean and Latin American. They always have an all day special and some are really good like 2 for 1 margaritas or $1 off all drinks. Although La Playa may not be the best for Happy Hour it is still worth checking out when around the Pawleys Island area.
