We are prone to mistakes and in the case of Joe's Bar & Grill I made a big one by not getting a re-review much sooner. My initial review a long time ago had Joe's with one of the lowest ratings on the site. What I didn't know that in addition to the bar they have right by the entrance, there is an addition bar overlooking the marsh with a fireplace called Raccoon Cove. It is called such because right next to it is what is best described as a raccoon playground where the critters were sitting there calmly munching on pumpernickel bread. Sitting out there is a much better atmosphere and I wish I had known about it sooner. That's how Joe's is altogether, it has always been a really great restaurant, but was always tucked away for mostly the locals to enjoy. Joe's Bar & Grill provides a much different Happy Hour experience with some really good food specials and it is worth finding the next time you are in North Myrtle.
