I had to go into the Socastee area the other day and I went in to The Gator Island to check to see if I needed to get anymore updates. There were a few minor changes, but nothing too drastic. I would consider the Gator as a success story as it has been around for a handful of years now and they have a very solid local base making it a fairly popular place. It proveds a solid overal experience with some good food and some cheap beer prices. Not many people will complain about $1.50 beers for Happy Hour to go along with a fairly inexpensive Happy Hour food menu. The bartenders are always friendly at The Gator and although it may be off the beaten path for some, I think it's worth going out of your way to head to The Gator Island Grill & Sports Bar if you haven't already.
