I did not have very high expectations when I decided to make the visit to Dick Divitz Tap Room. The Hwy 544 location has been numerous bars in the past such as Just One More, Butters Pub, & tally-Ho to name a few. None of those really gained much traction and had short life spans because the bars were not all that impressive. Once I stepped inside of the new Dick Divitz I was already impressed. The place had to be gutted and a gigantic copper topped U-shaped bar was put in. There are 10 beers on tap with plenty more craft beer taps on the way. They are going with a 1920-30's industrial theme and things like curved railroad spokes as purse hooks under the bar are a nice touch. The menu is not just your regular bar food, but some really good items as Dick Divitz specializes in sliders with such choices as the pastrami burger sliders & pork tenderloin sliders. The redone patio area is nice as well as the new owners have put a lot of thought into many details of this new place. There are not many different options in the Socastee area, but Dick Divitz Tap Room is going to be a nice new craft beer spot where you can get some good food.
