I often get asked about bars along Ocean Boulevard that people should try out and I usually do not have too many options to give them. With more and more high rises going up, Ocean Blvd properties are at a premium and there are not a lot of new bars and restaurants popping up along there. That is why I was intrigued to hear that the location that used to be Mammy's Kitchen was becoming CoCo Cabana Island Cantina. This place had always been known for its breakfast and lunch so after the place was gutted and redesigned they decided to open for breakfast and lunch where everything is scratch made even the bread, rolls & pastries are made in house. What this location was lacking before was a good bar and evening crowd which CoCo Cabana now has with a solid Happy Hour and good drink prices. The central location in Myrtle Beach is convenient and the spot has its own parking, so you do not have to pay. If you are in the heart of Myrtle Beach and looking for a new place to go from the morning to later on in the evening then Coco Cabana is a great new place to swing by.
