Review

I often get asked "What is your favorite Happy Hour?" and I never give a definitive answer because it all depends on what you are looking for on a given day. However, I will list a couple of the staples that I have always liked. Bisqit in Pawleys Island will now be making that short list of one of my favorites. It is a relatively new spot in the Hammock Shops in Pawleys Island in a building that used to be Roz's Rice Mill which has a log cabin feel with several dining areas, but the bar area is kind of small. The food is all scratch made with all the burgers and sandwiches on huge southern biscuits. On a recent visit I had the Lowcountry Bisqit which was root beer braised pork belly, smoked gouda, lowcountry slaw and a bearnaise aioli. It tasted as good as it sounds as do the many of the other items on the menu. The Happy Hour food menu may look generic, but Bisqit puts its unique twist on things like the unique wing flavors to the assorted dipping sauces for the fries. Bisqit is also owned by the same owner of Quigley's Pint & Plate so there are craft beers a plenty not to mention the hand spun milkshakes which can be made into "adult" milkshakes as well. I really cannot ask for too much more with Bisqit, the food is great, the selection is there, it is a relaxed atmosphere and you can get really good deals specials making it one of the best Happy Hours along the Grand Strand.
