It seems as if it is hard to survive in and around the CCU area as a restaurant. There are a few decent options around that have made it, but not many bar/restaurants are outside of the Coastal Ale House. Berni's 501 has decided to throw its hat in the ring and they may have some decent success doing it. The location along Hwy 501 had been vacant for a while as it was New York Deli nearly 3 years ago. Bernis used to be in downtown Conway, but moved into the new location and put some decent renovations into the place. They added a bar and an outside dining area and if you're a fan of the color orange then Berni's is the place for you with its bright orange walls. The food had always been good at the old Berni's spot and it has carried over into its new incarnation as well. I'm glad to see a Happy Hour menu was added providing some good specials especially the Spinach Cakes which people are known to rave over. You can get a drink at a decent price, and while Berni's 501 will never be mistaken for a college bar, it still provides a good new option in Conway and the Coastal Carolina area.
