Review

When the boardwalk was built in Myrtle Beach it was only a matter of time before some new attractions and bars or restaurants would pop up along it. It did take some time for that development to happen, but it has recently picked up. One such place that is trying to reap the benefits of the new downtown attraction is the 8th Ave Tiki Bar & Grill. From the outside it looks to be a small space, but once you go inside it is a rather large spot that is really nice with a very long bar and a patio area that overlooks the ocean. Parking can be a bit of a problem, especially if 8th Ave Bar is your only destination as the lot next to it (that is not affiliated with the bar) charges $10, so you will want to find a public spot nearby for much cheaper. 8th Ave provides a huge menu with plenty of options and you can choose from 16 items at Happy Hour that are 20% off. The regular prices take a bit of a hike, but it is understandable considering the setting. Drink prices are not too bad, and you can get some deals on domestics and liquor at Happy Hour as well. Although the Boardwalk has had some critics, I am glad it has brought about good new places like 8th Ave Tiki Bar & Grill.
